The Gryffon's Brush got started when I began to think that maybe there was a market out there for all of the camp gear that I had just finished designing and was starting to build in the spring of 2006. After all, I had looked around and could find very few people selling the kinds of items that I was looking for and of the ones I did find, many were quite expensive. It has spun out from there since.

In the SCA, I am known as Iain Ard mac an Bhaird. Over 15 years ago I went by my "nickname" Pangur Mor when I participated with my mother Bediah Baird (the artisan and founder of Celtic Folkworks). Now, my family and I are quite involved with our local group, the Dominion of Myrkfaelinn, and the surrounding Kingdom of AEthelmearc. My interests include brewing, archery, heavy fighting, cooking, thrown weapons, heraldry, combat archery, siege weapons, scribal illumination, leatherworking, metalworking, woodworking, and armouring - not necessarily in that order.

I do most of the work for The Gryffon's Brush myself, though sometimes I have some help.

The Gryffon's Brush is trademarked 2007 and is a TigerFire brand.
